About T-Molding Router Bit | 1/16in Slot Cutting Router

The Geek Pub T-Molding router bit cuts a 1/16in slot in most hardwood, softwood, composite material, plywood, particle board, or MDF. The slot cutter depth using the included bearing is 1/2in deep. The bearing can be changed with larger or smaller bearings which can be purchased at most hardware stores to change the depth of cut (not included). This slot cutter bit is designed for a 1/4in shank router table or handheld router. Perfect for Arcade T-Molding. The most common cause of burning and damaging slot cutting router bits is two fold: 1) running the blade too fast. Slot cutters should generally be run at slow speeds, and 2) not taking multiple passes in harder materials. You should take multiple light passes on very hard materials rather than a single full depth pass. Slot cutting bits are ideal for making biscuits, slots for T-molding, slots for joinery, and other basic edge shaping. High quality carbide teeth and bearing are long lasting and will provide a clean cut in most quality materials.
