The Falk Steelflex Grid Couplings are designed and manufactured to be best suited for use in four-bearing systems. Rexnord's Falk Steelflex Grid Couplings feature a horizontally split cover which allows for grid replacement without movement of the connected equipment, this replace-in-place design eliminates need to move hubs or re-align shafts, reducing element change out time. Falk Steelflex grid couplings are available in 25 sizes rangin from 1020T through 1260T and can accomodate torque loads up to 8,250,000 lb-in (932,126 Nm) and shaft diameters up to 20" (508mm). These grids, grid elements, or gridmemebers for T10 & T20 series Falk Steelflex grid couplings are the serpentine shaped alloy spring steel that connect the hubs and transmit torque between the connected equipment. Steelflex Falk grid coupling grids, grid elements, or gridmembers are made of high-strength alloy steel, tempered to spring hardness, and precision shot peened for maximum fatigue resistance and torque transmission capability, resulting in increased uptime and MTBF in the most demanding applications as well as providing reserve strength for longer life or allowing a smaller size coupling to be selected. Steelflex grid couplings' grids, grid elements, or gridmembers are engineered with a tapered t-grid profile allowing for smooth fitment into hub for easy installation and maintenance.
