About Ethicon Z340H PDS II Polydioxanone

Product Description PDS II Suture is indicated for use in soft tissue approximation, including use in pediatric cardiovascular tissue where growth is expected to occur and opthalmic surgery. PDS II is not indicated in adult cardiovascular tissue, microsurgery, and neural tissues. In vivo studies demonstrate that at 14 days post-implantation, 80% of its original strength is retained for sizes 3-0 and larger and 60% for sizes 4-0 and smaller, and at 28 days post-implantation, 40% of its original strength is retained for sizes 3-0 and larger and 70% for sizes 4-0 and smaller. At 42 days, post-implantation, it retains 60% of its original strength for sizes 3-0 and larger and 35% for sizes 4-0 and smaller.
