This is a professional alcohol gas and vapor detector. This gas detector is sensitive to alcohol gases and vapors such as methanol, ethanol, and isopropanol. Ethanol, methanol, and Isopropyl go by multiple different names. Ethanol goes by multiple names such as ethyl alcohol, drinking alcohol, grain alcohol, or alcohol. Methanol can go by methyl alcohol and wood spirit. Different names for Isopropyl are isopropanol, 2-propanol, and IPA. Alcohol gas detection is important for protecting workers from the potential health and safety hazards associated with exposure to alcohol vapors, such as flammability and toxicity. This gas detector is perfect to track and monitor alcohol gas in processing, spot checking, indoor vapor cloud checking, laboratory, storage tank leaks, and personal safety. The unit comes factory-calibrated to NIST USA isobutylene gas. Advanced features such as temperature detection, alarm recording, alarm setting, backlight high-resolution LCD, calibration features, and others are included. This product is not a breathalyzer and is not designed to be used as a breathalyzer. The OSHA limit for ethanol vapor exposure is 1000pm in an 8-hour work period. The limits for methanol and isopropyl are lower, with methanol vapors being at 200 ppm in an 8-hour work period and isopropyl vapors at 400 ppm in an 8-hour work period.
