About TPI 575C1 Digital Anemometer With Vane Probe And

The TPI 575C1 anemometer with vane probe and telescoping hot-wire probe measures air velocity in m/s, fpm, knots, mph, and km/h and air temperature in degrees C and F, and has record, recall, and hold functions for analyzing air flow. The meter records and recalls minimum, maximum, and average readings and its data hold function freezes a reading on the display to aid documentation. For transferring and storing data directly to a PC, the meter has an output terminal for connecting to the RS-232 serial port of a compatible PC (interface cable sold separately). The LCD shows air velocity and temperature readings simultaneously. The meter has an auto power off mode that shuts it down after 10 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life and has a low-battery indicator. It complies with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHs) directive, is Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed, and has European Conformity (CE) marking. This anemometer is used for monitoring air flow and temperature in ductwork, spray booths, and exhaust hoods, among other applications. Specifications Air velocity range Vane probe: 0.4 to 25 m/s, 79 to 4,921 fpm, 0.77 to 48 knots, 0.89 to 56 mph, 1.4 to 90 km/h; Hot-wire probe: 0.2 to 20 m/s, 39 to 3,937 fpm, 0.38 to 38 knots, .44 to 44 mph, 0.72 to 72 km/h Air velocity resolution 0.1 m/s; 1 fpm; 0.1 knots; 0.1 mph; 0.1 km/h Air velocity accuracy Vane probe: + or - (2% of reading + 3 digits); hot-wire probe: + or - (5% of reading + 3 digits) Air temperature range -20 to 80 degrees C/ -5 to 175 degrees F Operating environment 0 to 50 degrees C/32 to 122 degrees F at less than 80% relative humidity Power (6) 1.5V AAA batteries (included) Vane diameter 2-3/4" Hot-wire probe length Up to 37" Main unit dimensions (H x W x D) 144 x 74 x 29 mm/5.7 x 2.9 x 1.1 inches Weight 0.3 lb. H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. Anemometers, also called wind meters, measure air velocity and are most commonly used for weather monitoring to determine wind speed and for HVAC applications to determine air flow within ducts. In addition to air velocity, anemometers may measure wind direction, air pressure, air flow volume, air temperature, humidity, light, and other properties. The most common types of anemometer are cup, vane, hot-wire, and Pitot tube. Cup and vane anemometers calculate air velocity based on the number of rotations of the cups or vane. Hot-wire anemometers calculate air velocity by measuring the change in electrical resistance as air flow cools a heated wire. Pitot tube anemometers measure air pressure within a tube and calculate air velocity based on the difference in pressure between the air inside and outside of the tube. Many anemometers have digital readouts and can display air velocity readings in different units of measure, such as meters per second (m/s), feet per minute (ft./min. or fpm), knots, miles per hour (mph), and kilometers per hour (km/h). Test Products International (TPI) manufactures test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, manometers, multimeters, and test leads. The company, founded in 1997, is headquartered in Beaverton, OR. What's in the Box?
