A range of frequency dividers allows operation from 54 MHz to 6,800 MHz. The ADF5355 has an integrated VCO with a fundamental output frequency in the range of 3400 MHz to 6800 MHz. In addition, the VCO frequency can be divided by 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64, so users can generate RF output frequencies as low as 54 MHz. The RF output stage can be muted for applications requiring isolation. The mute function can be controlled either by a pin or by software. All on-chip registers are controlled through a simple three-wire interface. The ADF5355 operates from a 3.15 V to 3.45 V analog and digital supply with a charge pump and VCO supply from 4.75 V to 5.25 V.
