About Amprobe TACH-10 Tachometer With Contact And

This Amprobe combination contact and non-contact tachometer measures rotational and surface speed of motors, conveyor belts, and other moving systems. Contact measurements can be taken in revolutions per minute (RPM), meters per minute, feet per minute, or yards per minute, while non-contact measurements can be taken in RPM. All measurements are accurate to + or - 0.1%. The tachometer has a 15 x 33mm (0.6 x 1.3 inches) LCD display that presents test results and unit of measurement. Non-contact measurements are taken using an infrared beam function that works at a distance of 5 to 30cm (2 to 13 inches) from the target. The unit comes with cone and funnel contact tips for measuring shafts with center holes and flat-end surfaces. This Amprobe tachometer is designed for use by mechanics, mechanical engineers, and industrial equipment operators. Specifications Power supply (1) 9V battery Non-contact rotation range 10 to 99,999 RPM Contact rotation range 10 to 19,999 RPM Contact surface speed ranges 1 to 9,999.9 m/min, 3 to 30,000 ft./min, 1 to 10,000 yd./min Dimensions 266.6 x 177.8 x 81.28mm/10.5 x 7 x 3.2 inches (H x W x D) LCD dimensions 15 x 33mm/0.6 x 1.3 inches Weight (including batteries) 544.3g (1.2lb) Safety standard met International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)/European Standards (EN) 61010-1 Cat III 1000V and Cat IV 600V H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. Tachometers measure the rate of rotation or surface speed of motors, conveyor belts, and other moving systems. Tachometers are installed in cars, boats, and other motor vehicles to monitor the engine’s RPM. Handheld tachometers verify the accuracy of these installed tachometers. Tachometers may take contact or non-contact measurements. Contact tachometers take measurements through direct contact with the moving surface, while non-contact tachometers take measurements from a distance using a beam of infrared light. Contact tachometers can measure both RPM and surface speed. Non-contact tachometers only calculate RPM but are safer because they do not require the operators to be in close contact with the moving surface. Contact tachometers typically come with a range of tips that can be used to measure speed on different kinds of rotary systems. These may include tips used for measuring shafts with a central hole or flat end surfaces, and rotary wheels for measuring conveyor belts. Tachometers are used in applications such as automobile maintenance, mechanical engineering, and maintenance of industrial equipment. Amprobe manufactures electrical testing equipment for commercial, industrial, and home use. The company was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Everett, WA. What’s in the Box?
