Pine Bark, also known as Pinus massoniana lamb., is a species of pine tree which contains beneficial active compounds. These active compounds are called oligomeric proanthocynaidin compounds (OCPs) or proanthocyanidins for short, are found particularly in the bark of the pine tree. This particular compound is a powerful antioxidant and bioflavanoid complex that uses the extraction technique similar to Grape Seed Extract as both of these ingredients both contain a minimum of 95% Proanthocyanidins per serving. Antioxidants play a key role of preventing damage to important cellular components caused by reactive oxygen such as free radicals and peroxides.
