About No Es De Madera
In 1977, Jos Manuel Figueroa decided to call himself Joan Sebastian - paying tribute to San Sebastian, a town where he used to work. Joan Sebastian, an eight time Grammy winner, introduces his 39th album release with Balboa Records bringing us the hit single 'Amor Sin Maquillaje', which is also the name of a very popular Mexican soap opera. As a bonus track, No Es De Madera also features a promotional instrumental cut of 'Amor Sin Maquillaje'. Joan Sebastian has been recognized by critics and colleagues alike for his contribution to the Mexican culture, getting his lyrics performed by prominent Latin artists all over the world. In 2000 'Secreto de Amor', a previous release, received awards for song and album of the year in the Regional/Mexican category.
