Hornwort is a highly recommended floating plant that can be used in outdoor gardens, water features, and ponds. Many customers also "plant" it using lead weights or anchors in their freshwater aquariums indoors. Hornwort will aid the surrounding water by increasing water quality by naturally purifying the water. Due to its floating characteristics, it is also an ideal shade spot or fish or even a refuge for small fish like fry or minnows. We also recommend pairing this with Japanese Trapdoor Snails to combat algae and keep your ponds in top shape We highly recommend that you rinse the hornwort thoroughly to remove in dead pieces, snails, or scuds that may have been missed by us. Upon arrival, your hornwort may have some browning sections but should quickly bounce back once added to your desired location at home. Caution should be taken when adding the plants to your pond if you have a strong current leading to a filter. If you do, you may need to secure the plant with lead weights or fishing line as to not let it be chopped up in pumps or filters
