FREEDOM comfort Boxer Fracture Prefab Orthosis with MP Extension The FREEDOM Boxer Fracture Prefab Orthosis was built for quick, efficient immobilization of common metatarsal fractures. Rigid Kydex shell immobilizes and protects the fracture and surrounding joints. T-Foam padded interior adds comfort, support, and conformity to the fracture volume. In hard-to-fit cases, the shell may be gently heated (with heat gun) and reshaped. Sized to accommodate swelling. Indications and usage: Most useful when applied to fourth and fifth metacarpal fractures (including Boxer's fracture) when the fracture is half to two-thirds healed and there is inherent fracture stability or the swelling hsa begun to subside. Fitting Instructions: Adhesive-backed, pressure-sensitive padding is included with each orthosis to allow angular corrections to be made to the fracture site.
