About CANSON XL Sand Grain Dry Mixed Media 160gsm Paper

The CANSON XL Sand Grain is a grey-coloured drawing paper with a sandpaper-like surface and a surface weight of 160 g/m². It is suitable for all dry techniques, especially pastel, coal, chalk and graphite. The velvety and distinctive texture of the surface, which resembles sandpaper, is obtained by fibre inclusions of special materials of organic origin. The pigments adhere excellently to their surface, which allows you to create and control subtle colour transitions. In addition, the surface allows for painting in layers. With the paper for dry techniques, you can create monochrome as well as polychrome drawings whilst the coloured base provides exciting contrasts. The paper is durable enough for erasing and smudging and can be used on both sides. The drawing paper in study quality is optimally suited for beginners and frequent users with the pad’s large number of sheets allowing for a variety of creations. The paper is acid-free, made from sustainably sourced wood, and free from optical brighteners, which means that the tone remains over time and the drawing paper will not turn yellow. The cardboard on the back provides enough stability to use the pad on the go. The spiral pad is micro-perforated, which allows for easy removal of the sheet.
