Phenolphthalein can be used for many other types of titrations such as soap titrations for soap making and biodiesel soap tests. It will work as an indicator for any application where the pH range is desired. pH range: 8.0-9.8 (light pink to dark magenta) Phenolphthalein will turn a very dark magenta / purple color if it is in the presence of a very high alkaline solution.
