About In Between Dreams: A Pandemic Dream Study And Art
In Between Dreams: A Pandemic Dream Study and Art Project is the culmination of an artistic experimentcomposed of two parts: a dream study and an art project based on the findings from that study. In early 2021, 27 participants from around the world kept dream logs for 32 days to record their subconscious experiences. At the end of the 32 days, participants had the opportunity to create poetry and art based on their dreams. The finished project is a collaborative hybrid genre work that addresses the following questions:What shared experience(s) are we having during the pandemic?Is the pandemic an individual experience, a group experience, or both?Which emotions are most prevalent in people’s dreams after being in a pandemic for a year?Are there identifiable patterns in an individual’s dreams? Are there identifiable patterns in the group’s dreams?What do we learn from this process of self-reflection?
