Mostly from the former Panama Canal Zone, where many of the Emerald World stories are based. I also flew strat airlift and helicopters in my career, and later spent time with a commercial airline. If you've ever been interested in flying, especially bush-type flying where the shackles of radar and air traffic controllers and busy airports are off, you'll enjoy the Emerald World series of books about flying in Latin America in the 1990s.
