✅ SODIUM COCOYL ISETHIONATE (SCI) is a mild and gentle solid surfactant derived from coconut oil, in the form of powder. It is used in combination with Sodium Coco Sulfate (SCS) to formulate solid shampoos that are soft and well tolerated by the scalp and hair, while providing a rich and creamy lather. It also makes it possible to prepare shower bars. ✅ It has been in use for a number of years but more recently has become well known due to the increasing popularity of solid shampoo bars also known as Syndet Shampoo Bars. ✅ As SCI Solid Surfactant has limited solubility in water it may recrystallise if used in a liquid shampoo. ✅ SCI Solid Surfactant performs well in hard water areas and is biodegradable. It has a minimum of 82% active ingredient and a pH of 6 so formulae do not usually need pH adjusting. - SCI is gentle and totally Sulfate-free and is biodegradable. PROPERTIES ✅ Surfactant in solid form: combines with Sodium Coconut Sulfate to formulate concentrated shampoos, in solid form. ✅ Detergent agent for making very gentle cleansing products that are well tolerated by the skin. ✅ Softens the formulas based on Sodium Coco Sulfate. ✅ Very good foaming power, even in hard water. ✅ Gives a rich, creamy feel and a smooth foam. ✅ Conditioning effect on skin and hair: leaves a very soft feel.
