Chess is a pretty boring game if you're looking at it from the eyes of a young child. With cooler forms of entertainment out there like video games and augmented reality games, learning an ancient game like chess can seem fairly unsatisfying. However, this book presenting the entire "sport" very well. Most pages had detailed pictures and the text on each page was not overwhelming. My favorite thing about this guide is how most chapters end with a review to see if the child comprehended what they just learned. To be honest, nothing teaches chess better than learning while you play, but this guide comes a close second to learning the game. I've known how to play chess since I was in 3rd grade and even I learned some new things from this book. I highly recommend it if you want to spark an interest of chess in your child. - Francis
