Each Twister Seal Lid has a gasket in the rim that will seal against the rim of the bucket, and also has a gasket in the lid itself to seal the lid after installation. Installation methods vary. Most will find that using a rubber mallet to snap the ring in place is the most efficient method (mallet not included). Some people can install the ring by hand. Each single lid has the following (approx) measurements: diameter: 12 5/8", height: 1 1/2". The Twister Lid is a great solution for fast and convenient access to a variety of bucket storage applications. Sporting gear, yes. Pet food, yes. Rice, Beans, etc for daily access in your pantry, yes. For long term emergency food storage and/or liquid applications, a regular snap on lid with a gasket is best.
