This fourth volume in a series of five on preventive dentistry describes some materials, methods and programs used to prevent dental caries and periodontal disease. Coverage includes both self-care and professional methods of mechanical and chemical plaque control and the use of fluorides and fissure sealants. The final three chapters are devoted to needs-related and population-based oral health programs and the use of computer-aided epidemiology analysis for program quality control.
