3 Pieces of Alexander Gouge is an instrument used to carve away portions of the mastoid bone, typically due to infection. The gouge has one solid end that is the handle and is tapped on the end with a hammer to push the opposite blade end along and into the bone section to be removed. The long, scoop-style blade begins at the mid point of the instrument. As the steel thins to create the scoop the thin area also widens to a sharp end that scrapes away the bone. This product is straight with a 4mm tip and a length of 18cm.
