About Afrs Benny Goodman Show, Vol. 6
Volume six of the AFRS Benny Goodman Shows marks a departure from the previous shows in as much as Victor Borge the Danish pianist/comedian comes to the fore and out goes comedian Peter Donald. Collectors of the series may be surprised by the chronological jump of programs ten to thirteen missing out programs eleven and twelve. Apparently AFRS did issue two shows inscribed Benny Goodman eleven and twelve but these shows feature the Al Sack and Ray Bloch Orchestras and definitely no Benny Goodman material. Volume six is perhaps the most important issue in this series as it contains the previously believed to have been unissued show number fourteen, an extremely rare recording, which we discovered some time ago. Also worth mentioning is the inclusion of Lucille Ball and Slim Gaillard as guest artists.
