• Limited Edition: "The Goblet" pendant with a 24" leather cord designed by New York based artist Scynge Xing. Born in Beijing, China, she is a multimedia artist whose interdisciplinary work deals with issues of identity, memory, and personal narratives. Taking performances as a central practice in her work, Xing discusses and examines issues of individual existence in relationship with gender, culture, and identity in the context of the multicultural world in modernization at different degrees.

• On the one hand, Xing respects the values of the classics and attaches importance to its reshaping and reinterpretation. With a series of performance projects under the concept of “Qin, Qi, Shu, Hua, Shi, Jiu, Hua,” she explores the relationship of how art and culture engage with everyday phenomenon within the current social and political context.

• On the other hand, Xing analyzes the cultural and political identity as an Asian and Chinese. By examining the ideology under the Western and Eastern cultural dichotomy, her work also critiques the paradox and problems that appear in the binary opposition under the culture and geographical division between the East and the West.

• Through the slow process of fermentation, materials are transformed and transcended into wine and liquor. It is such a linear, cumulative, but unstable state, which gives it a subtle nuance for its meaning. It is a metaphor about civilization: life and materials are infinitely extended in the vast dimensions of time and space, stretched, squeezed, intertwined with one another, which slowly brews the essence of life, the very core of living, and the crystal of culture.
