The Dormer A221 series cobalt steel combined drill and countersink has an uncoated (bright) finish and a plain style to create a center hole with a 60-degree countersink that can be used as a center hole for machine centers, and meets United States Cutting Tool Institute (USCTI) standards. The 118-degree conventional point drills a center hole, while the two spiral flutes clear chips away to prevent clogging. Cobalt steel provides extended tool life compared to high-speed steel drill bits, and maintains the tool's toughness and hardness in high drilling temperatures. The uncoated finish has no additional surface treatment or coating. The tool is double-ended to provide two cutting ends. The round shank accommodates most drill chucks.Combined drill and countersinks are fluted cutting tools that drill a shallow hole with a conical or gradually widened opening, also known as a countersink, into the surface of a workpiece. These tools, also called combined drill countersinks, drill-point countersinks or center drills, are commonly used to create center holes that act as a bearing surface for a machine center. Some types reduce the two-step process of creating a countersunk pilot hole into one.Dormer Pramet manufactures cutting tools under the following brands: Precision Twist Drill, Dormer, Union Butterfield and Pramet.
