About Club Inferno

Product Description Club Inferno, a Divine rock 'n' roll musical based on the work by Dante Alighieri, starts inside Club Inferno as Diva Dante bursts through the Mylar curtain to perform her signature song, "Fifteen Minutes of Fame". At the climax of the number, she is electrocuted accidentally (or was it by her three back-biting back ups Teeni, Nastay, and Vultu?) and falls to the stage. Awakened in Limbo, Dante is told by the guitar playing white angel, Virgil that her time has not yet come yet but she must travel through the Nine Circles of Hell to make her way home. We follow Virgil and Dante as the band descends Hell’s stratum, encountering the various sinners who inhabit each realm. Among those they meet are such notables as Mamma Cass & Karen Carpenter, Cleopatra, Joan of Arc and the heads of Jayne Mansfield, Isadora Duncan and Marie Antoinette. Ultimately they meet as well, Dante’s Divine muse, poor Judy Garland herself, frozen at Hell's ice lake center. Review "... a who’s who of San Francisco’s underground dragster scene." -- DJ Pusspuss, Spectrum Magazine, May 2003 About the Artist The Tuck ‘n’ Roll Players are a hi-concept troupe of San Francisco artists, musicians & thespians bringing their own brand of Trannyrock to the Bay Area. In Y2K after the success of the group’s first work "Cyberotica!", the group set out to maximize the performance potential of each performer in a original rock musical based on a classical work. Winner of 2 Bay Area Critic Circle Awards, Club Inferno, opened in September, 2000 in the tiny Paradise Lounge in San Francisco, California. It ran for two months before the the dot.com boom and bust laid waste the Bay Area small theatre scene. Look for more of Dante and from this prolific group as the San Francisco cast is slated to remount in Spring, 2004.
