About Right Where I Should Be

Review "That neotraditional current is starting to be felt among the ranks of New England songwriters ...among the hottest ..Joyce Andersen." -- Scott Alarik, Boston Globe, January 30, 2003 songs that feel like they could fit in a variety of traditional styles...speak with contemporary freshness about universal ideas." -- Kris Garnjost, Jam Music Magazine, April 2003 there's something mysterious in her music that sounds like it comes from an ancient and pure source." -- The Morning Show,Minnesota Public Radio,March 2003 Product Description Right Where I Should Be by Joyce Andersen About the Artist Andersen has made a name for herself as a sought-after fiddler and session player in the Northeast for the last ten years, and has played in bluegrass, country, rock, jazz & celtic groups. During stints with The McKrells, the John Lincoln Wright Band, Marshall Crenshaw, New England Bluegrass Band, Childsplay Fiddle Orchestra, Eric Andersen and John Herald among others, her fiery fiddling has run the gamut from Nashville country, alt rock, swing, bluegrass, celtic, folk, to various traditional fiddle styles. Andersen's work has brought her from the coffeehouses of her native New England to tours of California, local bar gigs to the stage of Carnegie Hall, country music in Japan to traditional fiddle music in Sweden. Her CDs get folk radio play across the country. The last 3 years she has teamed up with songwriter and acoustic guitar legend Harvey Reid to tour and record a highly-acclaimed duo CD "The Great Sad River" as well as putting out her two solo CDs "The Girl I Left Behind" and "Right Where I Should Be," which got her voted folk artist of the year in the seacoast area of Maine and New Hampshire.
