SM468, also known as “the musicians tape”, is the classic formula and most go-to tape in the audio industry. It was originally debuted in the early 1960s. Chances are some of your favorite albums were recorded on SM468. SM468 is the tape to use to mimic that old vintage sound that we all love.You’ll find 468 surprisingly consistent, with a unique sound. It’s famous for its warm 3rd harmonic distortion and tape compression. The warm analog sound that comes through from the SM468 gives that vintage feel and sound that warms the soul. SM468 does not have a long play version.
