TRM Heating Cable 120 Volts - 6 Feet Long with 6 Feet Cold Lead The self-regulating heating cable is ideal for heat tracing in commercial or residential applications. TRM’s SR cable is suitable for applications such as freeze protection, sprinkler, roof and gutter de-icing, heat loss replacement, and frost heave prevention. This cable is a cost-effective solution for most heat tracing applications, with a range of fastening products that can be designed to match your project’s specific requirements. The semi-conductor core regulates its heat output based on the surrounding temperature and can vary its heat output along the cable’s entire length, saving energy and eliminating hot spots along the pipe. This means that the cable uses less energy when it is warm outside, and more energy when it gets colder Unlike cheap heat cables, TRM heating cables are designed to be crossed or overlapped to suit the specific site conditions. Technical Specifications Cable Construction: Self regulating insulated core, woven tinned braid, with a polyolefin outer jacket. Cable Ending: The cable is preterminated with factory end seal and power connection point. Voltage: 120 Volts. (120 Volt units will come with a 6 feet cold lead and a lighted plug). Wattage Per Foot: 8 W Per foot at 10C. When cables are surrounded by ice and snow, the cables will generate 12W per linear foot. Controls and GFI The cable can function safely without the use of controls, and is designed to be simply plugged into a standard wall outlet. It is recommended to utilize thermostats or controllers to maximize the efficiency of the cables while simultaneously minimizing the electrical costs.
