She serves as the Dean of the faculty of Social Sciences (2015-present). Dr. Bissessar has also served as a member of the Integrity Commission of Trinidad and Tobago (2010-2013). She is the author/editor of eighteen books and approximately seventy articles in peer-reviewed journals. Her areas of interest include governance issues, reform, anti-corruption measures, and ethnic and racial studies.
