Use a raised panel router bit to reduce the thickness of the center panel of rail and stile doors while at the same time adding a beautiful profile to the edge. Install one of these bits in your table mounted router and route your panels face down. Raised panel router bits have a large diameter and remove a lot of material, so make sure you have a router with enough horsepower to handle this kind of work.
