About Cook's Glazier Sketch
These mountains in the South Island of New Zealand were massive, and maternal at once. They provided a protection as they surrounded the town of Fox Glazier. I was interested in this sketch, in the way the trees created a soft edge at the base of the mountains, and of the overall structure of the forms. When I returned to my studio in the U.S.
