About Kato USA Model Train Products N GG1 PRR - Tuscan
The GG1, one of the PRR's most famous and recognizable locomotives, is also one of the most curiously designed. The GG1 is technically two 4-6-0 (G) locomotives under one shell, adding up to a 4. 6k horsepower behemoth that was staggeringly powerful and fast even by today's standards. The Tuscan Red five-stripe paint scheme was, for all intents and purposes, exactly the same as the more common Brunswick Green "Modified Loewy" paint scheme, simply substituting the green for the PRR’s signature Tuscan Red color. This paint scheme was introduced in 1952, and in the end was worn by 10 of the GG1s in service on the PRR.
