DRIELS has taught engineering at universities in the United Kingdom and the United States since 1972. Since 1995, in support of the Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Munitions Effectiveness, his research has focused on various aspects of conventional weapon effects, commonly known as weaponeering. Since 2000 he has taught a graduate-level Introduction to Weaponeering class at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, and an associated short course to military and civilian audiences in the United States and overseas.
