You have complete control on how much hoof material you remove and can easily see if you are getting close to the quick. The Cdisc produces a smooth even cut with no jagged edges, helping to prevent hoof rot. Because of it’s easy of use and ability to trim fast and efficiently the 8 Tooth Cdisc is great for trimming large herds of goats. For maintenance of a variety of goats, there are three abrasive trimming discs. The Gold Fine Grit Disc is used on smaller goats with less to trim or for a first time trim. The Blue Medium Grit Disc is used on goats that have small to standard size hooves or regularly maintained hooves that do not require a lot of work to bring them back to confirmation. The Blue Medium Grit Disc is also an excellent choice for treating a foundered goat. The Silver Coarse Grit Disc is best suited for medium to large goat breeds like Boer Goats or those problem hooves that seem to grow right before your eyes. Of course, climate conditions play a big roll on choosing which disc to use. Dry hot climates and freezing cold climates require a more aggressive disc than a milder wet climate.
