About Black Handmade Bota Wineskin - Easy Care Latex

This bota wineskin from Spain is a work of art, handmade with skills handed down from generation to generation. A bota bag is excellent for traveling, whether on a picnic, a bike ride or a hike through the forest. Its soft goat black suede exterior is comfortable and attractive. Share a refreshing drink with your companions and add the romance of old Spain to your next get-together. This handmade bota is lined with latex, so you can use it for wine, water or any other refreshing drink. Otherwise it is just as painstakingly made as the classic pitch-lined version. Don't make the mistake of buying a cheap imitation. Each one of our botas is made by the famous bota-maker Jesus Blasco and branded with our Peregrino logo. Making a bota takes a lot of experience and patience. There are dozens of steps in the process before the wineskin is ready to be used. The leather of our botas is cut and sewn by hand to make a tight pleating. Next, it is turned inside out and a latex interior is inserted. Finally, the bota spout is attached and the final touches are made. Our brand, Peregrino, means 'pilgrim' in Spanish. Many pilgrims walking the road to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia carry a bota to refresh themselves and friends during their long journey. This latex lined version is particularly useful since it can carry wine or water, depending on your preference. Jesús Blasco is a traditional bota workshop in the ancient castle town of Sigüenza, in the countryside northeast of Madrid. Since the nineteenth century they've followed the ancient method of bota-making. To this day the family company is run by descendants of the founder, Julián Blasco. To use your easy care latex lined bota, simply rinse with water and add your favorite wine or other beverage. Rinse with warm soapy water and allow to dry after use.
