  • COMPLEX FLAVORS: Our fresh wasabi is strong and hot – it’s intense but not harsh. The flavor is fresh, herbal and clean. Wasabi adds a unique flavor and heat to foods and is described as having a sharp, hot, vegetable taste that enhanced flavors, acting much like salt. Wasabi’s heat component is different from chilies, as the hotness quickly dissipates in the mouth leaving a mild vegetable taste.

  • REAL WASABI: Wasabi is a member of the healthy cruciferous family, which includes kale, broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts and mustard. In Japan, wasabi is believed to have medicinal properties. It is typical to pair it with raw fish, and it has become a critical ingredient in Japanese cuisine.

  • PERFECT FOR: Excellent with sushi and sashimi. Also pairs well with grilled fish, crab, shrimp, oysters, grilled or roasted meats, fresh vegetables, mashed potatoes and any dish calling for fresh horseradish.

  • HOW TO USE: Wash and trim away any bumps. Do not remove the skin – it contains a lot of flavor. Trim the root-end to expose a fresh surface. Using a special wasabi grater or a fine Microplane, grate wasabi into a small pile using a slow, light, circular motion. Let it rest for two minutes to let the flavors develop and serve immediately.
