Imagine a system so complex it automatically adjusts to changes in light, color, and distance, and system that sends a signal to a receiver and back within a literal blink of the eye. What is this magnificent system? A fancy new camera? Simpler than that: your eyes. Your sight is dependent on the health of your eyes and how well they are able to perform their duties. You probably already know about the cornea (the transparent membrane that covers the front of the eye), and the retina (a light-sensitive membrane connected to the brain by the optic nerve), the iris and the pupil. The macula is the part of your vision that allows you to read, sew, and perform other activities which required acute vision. But what do all these parts have in common? They all play a role in your vision--and MUST be taken care of.
