About Degen1
Degen1 is inspired by and abstracted from natural forms of degeneration and decay in nature: mold and lychen. The natural inspiration is juxtaposed in a machine-made material, 3D printed bioplastic. The individual printed tiles are spaced on a backdrop of white painted plywood, so the work appears to be floating against the wall. Degen1 creates a syncopation between natural and inorganic systems of order.
