About SALCA - Beneteau Collar - 25mm - BC-25

SALCA Beneteau Collar 25mm BC-25 (Patent Pending) The Sacrificial Anode Line Cutter Assembly is the first unit to combine a sacrificial anode and disc line-cutter to give you dual protection against corrosion and propeller entanglement. By combining a durable stainless steel disc line cutter to our MIL-SPEC pressure die cast anodes, we simplified installations and eliminated maintenance issues hampering traditional line-cutters.. The SALCA uses the highest quality materials to make sure that you have a durable unit that will stay efficient through the life of the product. SALCA FAQ’s Q Where does the SALCA install? A The SALCA will fit on most prop shafts between the prop and strut/stern tube. Q Can I use more than 1 SALCA? A Yes. Since you never know how entanglement will occur, more protection is better. One can be installed forward of the Prop and one installed forward of the strut. Q Does the SALCA come in Zinc, Aluminum, and Magnesium? A As of the moment, the SALCA is only available in Zinc and Aluminum. Q Will the SALCA have the same cutting power when the anode deteriorates? A The SALCA will perform consistently over the life of the anode. The tighter tolerances prevent spinning, and it’s pressure die cast to wear evenly. Remember to change out the SALCA when the zinc is 50% consumed. Q Is the SALCA cheaper than a traditional line-cutter? A SALCA is more “cost effective”. The SALCA provides protection like a traditional line-cutter and you get the added benefits of corrosion protection from the high-quality anode – which you need to install anyway. Q Is the SALCA easy to install? A Yes, If you can install an anode, you can install a SALCA. The SALCA comes in 2 parts and uses 2 simple screws (flat head or allen key) to install. Q When should I change out the SALCA? A Change it out like you would any anode on your marine vessel. The longevity of your anode varies relative to the size of the prop and shaft and waters you frequent.
