About Mitutoyo 543-564ACAL Absolute Digimatic Indicator

The calibrated Mitutoyo 543-564ACAL Absolute Digimatic electronic indicator gauge, ID-H series, is for measuring short linear distances, including measurements taken with the unit upside down, in mechanical engineering, machining, and manufacturing applications. It has a measurement range of 0 to 2.4" (0 to 60.9mm), a selectable resolution of 0.00005/0.00002/0.0001", or 0.0005/0.001mm, and an accuracy of + or - 0.0001" (0.0025mm). The backlit LCD readout displays measurements in inches or metric units. The indicator has a go/no-go display that lights green or red, respectively, when upper and/or lower tolerances have been set. It has an analog bar indicator that shows lower and upper limit-approaching. This model is Ingress Protection certified IP30 for protection against objects larger than 2.5mm. Mitutoyo calibrated tools include a Certificate of Calibration that provides evidence that the tool has been calibrated and is within allowable error specifications. Mitutoyo calibrated tools are certified by Mitutoyo's American Association for Laboratory Accreditation-accredited calibration laboratory (A2LA Certificate #750-01) to the International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC) 17025 International Standard for testing and calibration laboratories.Additional functions for this indicator include origin set, preset, zero set, maximum/minimum value hold, runout measurement, counting direction switching, and alerts for low voltage, counting value composition, overflow, and tolerance limit setting errors. An Absolute electrostatic capacitance-type linear encoder helps prevent overspeed errors and ensure accurate measurements. This unit has a 3/8" diameter stem and a #4-48 UNF contact point thread mount. The measuring force is 2.5 Newtons (N) or less. This gauge offers serial data output (using optional SPC cables, sold separately), which increases speed and reliability of digital measurement records. It also supports RS-232 data input and output for remote control (using RS-232C cables and a remote controller, sold separately). This unit comes with a power cord and AC adaptor.SpecificationsRange0 to 2.4" (0 to 60.9mm)ResolutionSelectable: 0.00005/0.00002/0.0001", or 0.0005/0.001mmAccuracy+ or - 0.0001" (0.0025mm)Measuring force2.5N or lessStem#4-48 UNF contact point thread mount with 3/8" diameter stemFaceBacklit LCD displays in both inches and metric units, green or red lighting displays go/no-go judgmentData input/outputSPC output, RS-232 input/outputDimensions310.35 x 60 x 42mm (H x W x D)Shipping weight2.5lb.Power sourcePower cord and AC adaptorStandardsIP30H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point with stem at rest; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.Dial indicators are also called dial gauges, probe, and electronic indicators. These precision instruments measure small linear distances and object sizes. The dial magnifies the measurement so that it can be easily read by the human eye. Frequently used in manufacturing, laboratories, and other industrial or mechanical fields, dial indicators are used anywhere a small measurement must be found and recorded or transferred, such as checking the variation in tolerance of a workpiece. Standard dial indicators measure the displacement along the axis of the indicator. Dial test indicators are very similar to dial indicators, except that the axis of measurement is perpendicular to the axis of the indicator. Dial and dial test indicators can be analog, with a mechanical dial, or electronic, with a digital display. Some electronic models transfer the data electronically to a computer for recording and potential manipulation.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems. The company, founded in Tokyo in 1934, formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963 with headquarters in Aurora, IL.
