6073 (UNS A96061) is an aluminum flat bar with cold finished or extruded aluminum wrought product with corrosion resistance, workability joining characteristics, and machinability. Aluminum alloy grade 6061 is commonly used worldwide in aerospace, marine and truck components, railroad cars, pipelines, ornamental machinery, and structural applications. This version of aluminum alloy is best known for characteristics of being heat treated for higher strength quality. The higher strength to weight ratio of the 6061 aluminum flat bar allows it to be applied in parts requiring light weight designs.
