This class 150 Sharpe Valves 50116 series stainless steel 316 inline ball valve has a lockable lever handle and flanged connections on both ends. This valve body is made of stainless steel 316 for higher strength and greater corrosion resistance than stainless steel 304. Stainless steel 316 is sometimes called "marine-grade stainless steel" due to its resistance to chloride corrosion. This valve has a lockable lever handle for manual on/off control. Reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene (RPTFE) seats reduce the risk of leakage. The valve is full port for reduced friction; its inner diameter is the same as the inner diameter of the connecting pipe for maximum operating efficiency. This valve has flanged ends for bolting to compatible-sized pipe flanges. The maximum working temperature is 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Ball valves use a spherical disc to control the flow between pipes, tubes, or hoses. Flow is allowed when the hole that pierces the ball-shaped disc is in line with the inlet and outlet of the valve.
