Dual plate check valve is also referred as retainerless valve or dual disk valve. Dual check valve is applied to prevents back flow and ensure efficient flow control in a pipeline installation set up. These valves consist of two spring-loaded plates that are hinged on a central pin within a cylindrical body. The plates open in response to the forward flow of fluid, allowing it to pass through the valve. When the flow reverses, the plates quickly close, preventing any backflow and maintaining the desired flow direction. The advantages of cylindrical body ensure uniform pressure distribution, reducing pressure drop and minimizing the potential for turbulence or water hammer effect. Dual plate check valve has compact design, allows for space-saving installation. As compared to the normal swing check valve, it is lighter and easier to handle. It also offers flexibility in the direction of installation. To install a dual plate check valve, it is important to clean the valve thoroughly and apply a protective coating of rustproof oil.
