With 15 tracks recorded at festival appearances 1997-2001, here is one of the greatest Mexican fiddlers from the hot lowlands (Tierra Caliente) of the state of Michoacan. He is a virtuoso with a vast repertoire, known as the Paganini of the Hotlands even though he cannot read music. While his fiddle style may rival the great Italian masters, Reynoso's music is never precious, it is the music of his people. He plays a variety of genres: sones, pasodobles, danzones and polkas, but his preferred songform is the Gusto, a Mexican dance with a great rhythmic drive. When he sings he has a voice that conveys a joy for life, great experience and a warm heart. He is accompanied on this album by his sons Neyo (vocals, guitar) and Javier (guitar), also Castulo Benitez de la Paz (vocals, guitar).
