About Observer: The Ronnie Lee And Jackie Bancroft

Greed on Wall Street is surpassed only by the company CEOs, founders, and their heirs. Jackie was a Wall Street Journal heiress by virtue of being married to Hugh Bancroft, Jr, heir to the Journal's wealth. The marriage was short, eight years, as Hugh, Jr. died of a brain tumor. Now, with three young children she begins the widow's walk. Constantly facing envy, Jealousy, and the greed of others, she soon develops a protectionist elitist personality. The interior decorator, Ronnie Lee Morgan, has a plethora of the character defects of envy and greed but also has a personality that works with Jackie's. In her latter years, Jackie decides to marry Ronnie, even though he is gay and has a significant other. Ronnie, for his part has had a glimpse of her massive wealth, and is quite acceptable to marrying the widow. Here is an excerpt from a meeting with his lawyer:As dinner was served and the salad plates removed, Ron brought up the subject, again."When we meet with Jackie tomorrow, she wants to talk to you about doing a contract with Dale Chihuly for glass for the theater.""You mentioned that once before, Ron. Who is Dale Chihuly?""He is a famous artist in glass. I'm going to do the entire theater in glass. It will be absolutely stunning.""You mentioned something about marriage just before the Verlander suit started. I talked to Lorenzo here about it, but didn't know much. What's that all about?""When I finish the theater, we're talking about getting married. Jackie wants to do a lot of traveling, and wants me to go with her. She's going to pay me to do it," Ron explained."For God's sake, Ron, why marriage?" I asked."I don't know. She's from the old school, I guess. She doesn't want to be traveling and living with a man she is not married to."" But, Ron, you're gay. She's not. She's older. You're not. It seems rather strange.""Not really. Nothing will change, except I will be making a lot
