C9200 Mailbox Lock. ***TURNS COUNTER CLOCKWISE FROM LOCKED 12:00 to UNLOCKED 9:00 POSITION Make sure your lock says USPS-L-1172C on it. This lock is a Key retaining lock (which means you can not pull the key out until you re lock it.) This is one of the strongest Mailbox locks made. Make sure you put the tail piece on before you try the lock or the key will not come out. This lock comes with three keys a locking nut and a horse shoe lock retainer. You have to reuse your old tail piece.(The tail piece is the part that mounts on the back of lock that does the locking.
