From the beginning, the Universal Bassinet Wedge by Monsaneta had only one focus in mind: better rest for parents and babies alike. Sleep is essential for all human beings and we found that one of the main disturbances in infants at night, is acid reflux or spit-ups. As a result of these discomforts, parents are woken up by their restless babies, causing both parties to be deprived of a good night's sleep. We found the solution to be utterly simple yet outstandingly effective: a slight elevation to provide relief for babies which in turn provides relief for parents. One of the causes of acid reflux has to do with the fact that an infant’s lower esophageal sphincter is still underway of development and thus, lying on a flat surface for prolonged periods of time, results in acid reflux, spit-ups and other common conditions that deprive the infant of sound sleep. Recommended by many Pediatricians, a 12 degree incline to support the head and torso of the baby is an effective way to combat these disturbances. Furthermore, our Bassinet Wedge is manufactured to be safe, healthy, and effective for everyday use. While it fits most US standard bassinets, we recommend that you check to see that the bassinet width is between 14 and 17 inches wide. Installation:Place the bassinet wedge under the sheets of the headrest area of the bassinet. Make sure that the baby’s bottom is on the mattress and not on the actual wedge. It is imperative that only the baby’s back and head are on the wedge for support! Cleaning:The non-removable waterproof cover can be gently cleaned by hand with warm water and soap.
