She holds a Masters in Dance Education and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (Neurology). Pianists were all students, private or at Salem College, of Barbara Lister-Sink from 1992-96. About the Director Barbara Lister-Sink is an internationally acclaimed performer and global leader in injury-preventive keyboard technique. A graduate of Smith College and recipient of the Prix d'Excellence from Utrecht Conservatory, she is currently Artist-in-Residence at Salem College, Winston-Salem, NC. Her teachers include Guido Agosti, Edith Lateiner-Grosz, John Duke, Clemens Sandresky and Margaret Mueller. She has collaborated with some of America's most distinguished musicians and has been heard on NPR, CBC and Radio Netherlands. Formerly keyboardist for the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam, she has taught at Duke University, Brevard Music Center and was on the Artist Faculty of the Eastman School of Music. Lister-Sink, creator of the Lister-Sink Method, has given numerous presentations for national and international music organizations, including the MTNA, World Piano Pedagogy Conference, International Klavar Foundation and the European Piano Teachers Association, London Chapter. In 1992, she was a presenter and performer for the First World Congress of Arts and Medicine in New York City. Her articles and reviews have appeared in leading music journals, as well as in Southern Medical Journal and Current Research in Arts Medicine. She directs a program of study in injury-preventive keyboard technique at Salem College, and offers certification in the Lister-Sink Method through WINGSOUND International. Through her DVD, intensive training workshops and performances, in addition to hundreds of workshops at universities, conservatories, summer institutes, AGO chapters and professional organizations, Lister-Sink has helped thousands of keyboardists from around the world remove technical obstacles to their musical development.
