About the Actor Salt is the most famous whale in the world. She has twelve calves and eight grandcalves. Salt has been seen by perhaps one million people since 1976. About the Director Daniel Knaub documented the behaviors of individual whales over a sixteen year period in the waters of the Gulf of Maine. The Salt DVD shares her special interest in people and her love of her calves. She brings them over to the boats and patiently waits while they bond with the whale watchers.
