About Fluke 8845A/C Auto-ranging, True RMS Multimeter

The Fluke 8845A/C benchtop digital multimeter (also known as a multitester) is a true RMS, auto-ranging meter for measuring current, voltage, resistance, frequency, and period in manufacturing and electrical testing and repair applications. The meter comes with a set of detachable test leads. The dual display shows two readings at once, such as voltage and resistance. The meter measures 2- and 4-wire resistance, and it has split-terminal jacks for measuring 4-wire resistance using only two leads (2 x 4 test leads sold separately), for improved accuracy. An audible continuity sensor confirms a circuit conducts electricity, and a diode test detects proper functioning of a circuit’s diodes. The meter's internal memory can store measurement and configuration data. The meter provides statistical information such as minimum, maximum, average reading, and standard deviation in numerical and graphical form for tracking measurement trends and sudden changes in readings. The user can set high and low limits for pass/fail testing. The meter can also express AC and DC voltage in decibels (dB), the power ratio of decibels to milliwatts (dBm), and percent of the reading relative to a preset reference value. The math mode manipulates readings according to the formula mx + b, where m and b are user-entered constants for scale factor and offset, respectively, and x is the actual reading as would be normally displayed. The relative mode stores a reading in memory to use as a zero point for subsequent readings so that multiple readings can be compared. The user has a choice of slow, medium, or fast measurement rate; the faster the rate, the less accurate the measurements. IEEE 488, RS-232, and Ethernet ports on the meter provide connection to a computer for data transfer and analysis and for remote operation (RS-232-to-USB cable, RS-232-to-USB cable adapter, and Fluke Forms software are included). Triggers can be set to respond to measurement, bus, front panel, a
