I was unhappy with music theory books of the past 300 years and felt that it should be more of a science. I had many students coming to me confused about music theory due to the complexity and redundant naming convention that makes things much harder to learn than they should be. Then there are certain topics which are simply not taught accurately to what we experience in reality (Such as modes/modality). Students (including three of them with Grammy awards and Platinum albums) asked me to write a book they can use as a reference for what I was teaching them. This is that book. I have a knack for rebuilding systems so they are very easy and logical for learning. I have rebuilt music theory. I address issues we have had with it historically and I also present exactly accurate and scientifically predictable results as evidence of how simple and accurate my new music theory is compared to traditional theory. I built a computer program to help associations and to remove any redundancy where you have the same chord or scale named six different ways for instance and I used that to include a reference with every chord in music along with every scale that contains each chord. This allows you to easily see EVERY musical option when that chord shows up while composing and improvising. This book is for any instrument but contains diagrams for piano and guitar. I have sent the book out to industry pros and here is what some of them had to say about this amazing book: "Allen's ability to distill complex concepts into accessible and engaging lessons has inspired countless musicians, including myself. In this book, Allen bridges the gap between technical mastery and creative expression. Whether you are a seasoned musician or just starting your journey, his insights will enrich your understanding and appreciation of music. I can confidently say that Allen’s approach makes theory not just comprehensible, but genuinely exciting. Prepare to unlock new dimensions in your musicality. This is more than a guide—it’s a gateway to a deeper connection with your craft. Enjoy the journey."— Chris Adler (Drummer of Lamb Of God and Megadeth) “I don’t know $hit about music. But if I do it’s because I read it in Allen Van Wert’s book.”— GreazyWil Anspach (Grammy winning producer and engineer for Demi Lovato, Muse, Hozier, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Justin Bieber, Machine Gun Kelly, Killer Mike, and many other artists you hear) "A fantastic in-depth comprehensive book that leaves no stone unturned. Well explained and easy to understand,by the end of this book you'll be a music theory pro...!"— Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (Lead guitarist of Multi Platinum Guns N' Roses, Asia, Sons of Apollo) “I have only ever had 1 guitar lesson in my entire life, and I took it from Allen Van Wert”— Jason Null (Lead guitarist of Platinum award winning band Saving Abel) “Allen Van Wert, every time I hear that guy play, it makes me want to quit guitar, or sometimes it makes me want to practice guitar.”— Travis Miguel (Guitarist of Atreyu and Trapt)
